# Web App Troubleshooting

> Fix a stuck export, a missing caption track, a style that did not save, or a project that will not play.

## Create my video stays disabled

The button enables after the project type has what it needs.

* **Edit** needs media and a prompt.
* **Captions** needs a video and a template.
* **Create**, **Avatar**, **Voiceover**, **Translate**, and **Property video** need the prompt for that type.

Add the missing piece on Home, then select **Create my video** again.

## Captions are missing in the preview

Open **Settings** → **Captions style** and turn **Show captions** on. If the timeline has no caption phrases, run [Adding captions](https://captions.ai/help/web/captions/adding-captions.md) or ask chat to enable captions on the clip.

## A word is wrong

Click the word on the timeline and edit the spelling, or ask chat to replace that word everywhere. See [Editing captions](https://captions.ai/help/web/captions/editing-captions.md).

## A custom style is missing

Caption styles and edit styles are stored in different places.

* A caption template saved with **Save as new style** is under **Captions style** → **Custom**.
* An edit style saved with **More options** → **Save edit style** is in **My Edit Styles** and on the Home style picker.

## Scopes look stale

**Color** updates when playback is paused and cropping is finished. Pause, then open the scope again. See [Color scopes](https://captions.ai/help/web/timeline/color.md).

## Download will not start

Confirm a format is selected and **Download video** is available. HDR stays disabled when the source does not support it. Switch to MP4 at 30 FPS and try again. See [Exporting your video](https://captions.ai/help/web/export/exporting.md).

## The project looks empty

**New project** opens a blank timeline. Select **Add media to get started**, or return to Home and run an Edit with footage attached.

## You need the previous edit

**Undo** is in the header. **More options** → **Action log** lists what already happened on the project. **Duplicate project** keeps a copy before you try a risky change.
