# Music

> Add stock music, import a track, or generate music for the timeline.

**Music** on the tool rail is the soundtrack for the project.

* **Import music** adds a file from your computer.
* **Stock** is the catalog. Preview a track, then add it to the timeline.
* **Library** lists music you have already used or generated.
* **Generate** writes a new track from a prompt. Set the music model and the duration, then select **Generate music**.

The track appears on the timeline. Drag its edges to match the picture. Lower the layer volume or split the clip from the timeline if the song should duck under dialogue.
