# Voiceover on the Timeline

> Import or generate a voiceover track inside the editor.

**Voiceover** on the tool rail adds narration to the project you have open.

* **Import voiceover** places an audio file on the timeline.
* **Generate** reads a script in the voice shown on the voice button.
* Select **Generate voiceover** after the script and the voice are set.

A voice you have already cloned appears on the voice button. To create a new clone, start a [Voiceover project](https://captions.ai/help/web/generate/voiceover.md) from Home, let the plan finish, and configure the voice there.

Drag the voiceover layer to line it up with the picture. Captions and B-roll can be adjusted around that track with [AI chat](https://captions.ai/help/web/ai-chat.md).
