Powered by Captions' Lipdub 2.0 model, Lipdub Playground allows you to add a voice to your AI-generated videos. Just type and watch your character speak the provided script aloud — complete with synced lip movement. With Lipdub Playground, it’s never been easier to bring your ideas to life.
How does Lipdub Playground work?
Lipdub Playground uses Captions’ proprietary Lipdub model to bring the AI character to life and speak the words either written or recorded. Users can simply select or upload an AI video (works best with slight mouth movement in generated video), and then either type out a script or upload a voice recording. Powered by Captions' Lipdub 2.0 model, it is a zero-shot model that requires only a few seconds of input video. Lipdub can also handle complex situations like walking and even 4K footage.
Does Lipdub Playground work with different accents and languages?
Lipdub Playground supports multiple accents and languages, allowing for a wide range of voice customization options. Just upload a script or recording in your preferred language/dialect and Lipdub Playground will align lip movements with the spoken words. No matter what language you’re creating content in, this feature provides realistic and natural-looking lip sync, making it a versatile tool for anyone creating global content or reaching audiences in multiple languages.

Can I add my own voice to a character using Lipdub Playground?
Yes! You can upload your own voice recording to Lipdub Playground. If you already have your script recorded, after either selecting or uploading your character, import your voice recording to hear your character speak it back to you. You can also allow Lipdub Playground to randomly assign one of our voices - we have different styles, sounds, and accents.
How long of a video can I upload on Lipdub Playground?
Currently, there is a 1 minute time limit for videos created on Lipdub Playground.
What video formats are compatible with Lipdub Playground?
Lipdub Playground supports a wide range of video formats, ensuring compatibility with most standard files such as MP4, AVI, and MOV. This flexibility allows users to upload videos directly from various sources without needing to convert them beforehand, simplifying the process. Most common video file types should work so you can upload with ease and start adding voiceovers and synced lip movements right away.
Are there any rules in place about what can be generated with Lipdub Playground?
You must own the rights to any content you upload to Lipdub Playground. Once uploaded, your script or voiceover will be run through a filter to ensure they comply with our Terms of Use and our Terms of Service. This covers certain topics like, but not limited to violence, drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling. That said, it may very well be that your script is not violating our Terms of Service, but is still being incorrectly flagged by our system. Unfortunately, we don't yet have a way to override these scenarios. However, we are building a review process by which after you submit a script, if it is flagged, we can manually review it. Yes, Lipdub Playground is completely free to use and does not require a subscription or an account.
Are there any limits to how many videos or voices I can generate?
There are currently no limits to how many videos and voices you can generate or regenerate while using Lipdub Playground.
