Two approaches: dubbing vs. subtitles

Dubbed video replaces your original audio with an AI-generated voice in the target language, while keeping your face and video intact. Captions syncs the lip movement to the new audio. This is full localization: the viewer hears the video in their language. Best for: talking-head content, educational videos, motivational content, tutorials. Subtitles only keeps your original audio and adds a translated caption track underneath. The viewer reads the translation while hearing your original voice. Best for: entertainment content, videos where your original voice or personality is part of the appeal, content where the original audio adds emotional context.

Open your project in Captions

Import your video or open an existing project. Your video should already have the English captions generated. This helps Captions transcribe accurately before translating.

Go to Dubbing

In the editor, tap Dubbing from the toolbar or the audio settings panel.
Spanish and Portuguese are the highest-ROI first targets for English-speaking creators: large audiences, strong content engagement, and fewer competing creators in your niche.

Select your target language

Choose from 28+ available languages. Captions will transcribe your audio, translate the script, and generate the dubbed audio track, all automatically.

Review the translation

Before exporting, read through the translated script. AI translation is very accurate for most content, but review proper nouns, brand names, slang, and your call to action. These are the areas most likely to need a small correction.
If your CTA says “link in bio,” confirm the translation sounds natural in your target language. Some phrases don’t translate directly.

Export your dubbed video

Tap Export. The output is a complete video with the dubbed audio track and synced captions in the target language. Post it as a separate video, either on your existing account or a language-specific account.

Strategy tips

  • Start with one language before expanding. Spanish is the most common first choice for English creators; Portuguese (Brazilian) is a strong second.
  • Consider a separate account per language. Many creators run @yourhandle.es or @yourhandle.pt as separate accounts for each market. This helps the algorithm surface your content to the right audience.
  • Post consistently in the new language. Even 2-3 dubbed videos per week builds an audience faster than sporadic posting.
  • Check the translation before every post. Never publish a dubbed video without reviewing the script. One mistranslated phrase can cause problems.
