Animations live on the layer you select. You can keyframe a property, describe the motion in a prompt, or write a custom animation.

Keyframes

Select the layer, then set a property (position, scale, rotation, opacity, or an effect) at one frame. Move the playhead and set the property again. Captions interpolates between those keys. Text has its own animator. It changes characters, words, or lines inside one text layer, using animator properties and selectors. See Text.

Prompt

With the layer selected, ask AI chat for the motion. Name the layer and the time range. Example: β€œFrom 9 to 13 seconds, stretch two arrows in from opposite sides, then pull them back out.”

Custom code

For a motion the presets do not cover, add a custom animation on the layer and edit its code. Use that when you need a specific path, loop, or easing. Preview the layer, then adjust the code and the layer’s in and out points on the timeline.
