Motion Blur

Motion blur softens movement on FX layers. It applies across the project, not to a single clip.

Open Motion Blur

Select Settings on the tool rail, then Motion Blur.

Turn it on

The panel says “Apply transform motion blur to enabled FX layers across the project.” Turn on Enable Motion Blur.

Set the shutter

Control	Starting value	What it changes
Shutter angle	180	How long the shutter stays open. A higher angle smears motion more.
Shutter phase	-90	Where that smear sits relative to the frame.
Samples per frame	16	How many samples build the blur.
Adaptive sample limit	128	The upper sample count when the blur needs more detail.

Play the section with the moving FX layer and raise samples only if the streak looks stepped.
