How a dental student made $100K creating content
Bonsa made himself a promise: he was going to become your favorite influencer.
It's an ambitious goal for anyone, especially someone spending their days in dental residency. He started by documenting life as a dental student, but the more content he made, the more attention he paid to what made certain videos work.
If you've spent any time on TikTok or Instagram lately, there's a good chance you've stumbled across one of his videos. They're polished, fast-paced, and instantly recognizable, with sharp hooks and an editing style that's become part of his signature.
What most people don't see is how much work goes into making videos like that consistently. The promise was one thing, delivering on it was another.
Bonsa knew exactly how he wanted his videos to look, but getting them there was taking hours.
The problem
As Bonsa's audience grew, so did his expectations. The hooks needed to be stronger and the edits needed to feel sharper. The problem was that all those details added up.
"Once you put all the clips together, there's another mountain to climb," he says.
Like a lot of creators, he'd spent years teaching himself how to create the effects he wanted. Long before he was posting videos himself, he was watching YouTube tutorials and learning how other creators pulled off the edits he loved. Some of those same techniques still show up in his videos today.
As content became a bigger part of his life, the process started to feel harder to sustain. Spending hours on transitions, text treatments, and finishing touches was manageable once in a while. Doing it for every video wasn't.
The solution
Eventually, he started looking for a faster way to get videos across the finish line.
That's when he found Captions. He originally downloaded the app because he liked the fonts, but it quickly became a regular part of his workflow. Once he has his clips and voiceover together, he heads straight into Captions to build out the final version of the video.
"Captions does the final stretch for me," he says.
The transitions, text treatments, auto zooms, and other finishing touches that once ate up an afternoon now take minutes. And when he gets stuck on a particular edit or isn't quite sure where to take a video next, AI Edit often helps him figure it out.
It's one of the reasons people are always surprised when they hear how simple his process actually is.
"People think I have a really complicated process," he says. "It's so funny.
The results
Today, once the footage and voiceover are ready, he can finish a video in as little as 15 minutes instead of spending hours manually editing every detail.
That has made it easier to keep creating, keep experimenting, and keep showing up consistently. In the last few months alone, he's generated nearly $100,000 through content while continuing to grow an audience that first found him through dental school and stayed for the storytelling.
For Bonsa, consistency is still the foundation of everything.
"If you want to grow on content, you need to have a repeatable format where you can put up videos consistently," he says. "With Captions, you have everything you need. This is the app that I use to be consistent with content and that's how you're gonna grow."
These days, he's preparing for life as a practicing dentist while continuing to build his content business at the same time. It's a schedule that demands a lot, but the goal hasn't changed. He's still working on becoming your favorite influencer.
